Erskine, Hall & Coe Summer Exhibition
15 July, 2025

Erskine, Hall & Coe present a Summer Exhibition of modern and contemporary works by artists from around the world.

Among the highlights is a deeply burnished terracotta vessel by Magdalene Odundo. A ‘bell’ form by Hans Coper, dating from circa 1965, is an outstanding example of his spherical work and was previously exhibited alongside Lucie Rie in their joint show at Galerie Besson in 2006. Rie is also represented here, notably a cobalt blue bowl from around 1970 and a large-scale Knitted Bowl from circa 1981.

Sculptural works by Machiko Ogawa, inspired by fossils, minerals, and the natural world, offer a bold contrast to a rare green-glazed bowl by Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye, known for her clean, minimalist forms and refined yet saturated palette. A beautiful bowl and vessel by Jennifer Lee are shown alongside a meditative, translucent porcelain set by Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, renowned for her serene yet compelling still-life arrangements.

Exceptional pieces from Japan include Where the Light Goes by Shihoko Fukumoto, composed of indigo and gold leaf on Japanese paper fabric, and an inlaid plate by Morihiro Wada, having an intricate surface reminiscent of constellations and celestial maps. The work features exquisite Kintsugi restoration by artist Maiko Tsutsumi, further enriching its visual depth.

The exhibition comprises twenty-nine works by twenty-three international artists and runs from 15 July until 1 August.
