Erskine, Hall & Coe are delighted to present their ninth solo exhibition of new work by Sara Flynn.
The exhibition features twenty-two sculptural works that represent the next stage in Flynn’s exploration of form. A notable change in this new work is the evolution of Flynn’s composite forms. Where some works in her 2024 exhibition comprised two joined elements, several new compositions introduce a third, opening up new possibilities of proportion and spatial complexity.
Reflecting on this body of work, Flynn writes:
“The third element drastically changes how the forms can balance and position themselves. They demand to be seen in the round; they are fully three-dimensional forms with strong opinions and personalities.”
Through subtle shifts in scale and orientation, Flynn reveals how the smallest of variations can effect enormous change. The resulting works possess a remarkable sense of presence, rewarding close observation from every angle as new relationships and perspectives emerge.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue featuring an essay by Sebastian Blackie.
