Work from Erskine, Hall & Coe joins the Victoria and Albert Museum

Erskine, Hall & Coe have announced that a work from their Genta Ishizuka: Internal exhibition in June has joined the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.  This is thanks to the generosity of Victor F. “Trey” Trahan III, who has given the work to the museum.

About the artist:

Born in Kyoto in 1982, Genta Ishizuka currently lives and works in Kyoto.  He earned a BFA from Kyoto City University of Arts, during which time he participated in an exchange program at the Royal College of Art, London in 2006.  He graduated with a MFA in Urushi Lacquering from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2008.

Following several solo exhibitions in Kyoto and Osaka, Ishizuka’s work has received international recognition and awards.  In 2019, Ishizuka won the annual LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, and The Best Young Artist Award by the City of Kyoto.
