The Scented Room – Exquisite Candles at Ormonde Jayne

Ormonde Jayne has produced a range of five exquisitely fragranced candles, which are perfect to enhance the atmosphere of any room.

All Ormonde Jayne candles are hand poured in their London studio, using a high percent of fragrance with a burning time of more than 55 hours (over 100 hours for the multi-wick candle). Each comes with a chic gold lid and is presented in a fabulous handmade box.

The range comprises:

Casablanca Lily £70

A great performer and best-selling candle, scented with Bergamot, Lime and Lily.

Frangipani £70

A creamy rich floral scent with Magnolia flower, lime peel, white frangipani, jasmine and plum.

Sampaquita £70

An unmistakable summer bouquet, bursting forth with sun-kissed lychee, bergamot, freesia, muguet and magnolia.

Ormonde £70

An unconventional woody candle, with black hemlock, cardamom and cedar wood. A lovely candle to fragrance a hallway.

Montabaco £70

Developed from The Four Corners of the Earth Collection, Montabaco fuses leather and amber for Latin American-inspired scent

The Fine Art of Candle Burning

Ormonde Jayne recommend the first burn is lit long enough for the wax surface to be entirely melted to the edge of the glass. Trim the wick before relighting, making sure the wick is still centred and straight.

If the wick has dried off-centre, light the wick and gently manoeuvre the wick back to the centre using the matchstick. The wick may now be too long and puffing out black smoke. If this is the case, blow out the candle, cut the wick and relight.

Keep the candle clean, use kitchen roll to wipe the residue off the top of the glass.

Position the lit candle away from draughts and flammable materials. Do not burn candles on surfaces susceptible to heat damage. Never leave a lit candle unattended or near children and pets and never allow the candle flame to touch the side of the glass.

To extinguish the candle, simply replace the gold lid to starve the flame of oxygen. Leave to cool before picking up.
