Paul Smith Review of the Year

2016 has been a busy year for Paul Smith with the launch of a mobile game, a book and a series of collaborations large and small.

Look back on the biggest stories from the past 12 months and glance forward to the season ahead.

Paul’s playlists for Apple Music

Shining a light on the role that music play’s in his creative process, Paul curated a series of themed playlists for Apple Music touching on jazz, rock and pop.

Subscribers to Apple Music can listen to the playlists via the service and everyone else can read more here (https://www.paulsmith.co.uk/uk-en/shop/stories/aw16/apple-music)

‘Dino Jumper’ the mobile game

In September, the key print from the AW16 men’s collection leapt off the runway and landed on people’s phones and tablets as Paul Smith’s first ever mobile game: Dino Jumper.

The game is available to download and play for free on the App Store and Google Play, so there’s still time to improve on your high score.

Collaborations big and small

Only Paul could release a car, a lamp and a six-foot foam cactus in the same year.

As ever, Paul’s collaboration projects allow him to apply his unique and colourful deign principles to new and exciting areas.

Although the Land Rover was a special one off, you can still buy Paul’s Anglepoise lamps and Caran d’Ache pens online and in shops.

Paul’s Cycling Scrapbook

Back in May Paul published his personal history of cycling, exploring the sport that is so close to his heart by digging into his vast archive of memorabilia.

Looking forward to spring/summer ’17

While 2016 has been an eventful year Paul always prefers to look forward, not back. “Fashion is about today and tomorrow, he has said in interviews. “Nobody cares how good you used to be”.

With this in mind, we’re excited to present our spring/summer ’17 collections to you over the coming months, with new items arriving in shops and online each week from now.

You can get an early look at what to expect by reviewing the men’s and women’s show films.
